Cheese, olive and tomato snack

I am a strong advocate of food design. I think that there is no one on this planet who can resist a beautifully designed dish. I was showing a smart 17 year old lady some photos I took on March 8, 2012 in our office, when we celebrated Women’s Day (link here) and she told me: “you can feel the taste of the sweets in these photos”.

I agree. There are platters of food that just make your mouth water. There are cakes and pastry in window shops that just make you die to have one! Here is a beautiful salad I arranged for my daughter. She had it for breakfast, but it can be served at any time of the day.

Festive tower salad – dress to impress

This recipe is for all of us trying not only to cook, but to impress with our cooking. Appetizers rule when it comes to colorful arrangements, as we can use vegetables, cheese, meat and all sorts of decorations. Most probably, unless we use all kinds of props, we cannot make our potato stew look gorgeous! It can taste like heaven, but always look like… let’s say plain.

I love when people look at what I cook and say: it looks wonderful, I hope it tastes the same. Usually, they are not disappointed :). So, I decided to tell and show you how to turn a simple vegetable selection into a wonderful arrangement. Dress to impress is the name of the game today! My daughter does not like salad dressings very much, so I did not use anything. Of course you can use a little bit of vinegar, olive oil, lemon, salt, etc.

Ingredients: half a red bell pepper, half a long cucumber, 24 cherry tomatoes, 10 olives, 2 slices of ham, 2 toothpicks, 4 pieces of cheese
