About me

by viviana

My Granny, Victoria Paladi (May 7, 1920 – June 24, 2012)

to whom I dedicate “Cooking with Vivi”

(Please follow Cooking with Vivi on Facebook).

I started this blog because I like cooking, writing and photography. I like music also, but I have already found the “online cure” for that passion. If you want to know more about what I do, please go to www.vivianaball.com.

This blog contains easy to make and fun recipes. It mainly addresses businesspersons with a sense of cooking. Like many of them, I don’t have a lot of time to cook (although I would love to LIVE in the kitchen). So, I thought I would share some tips and tricks that made my life so much easier and my culinary talents well known.

I love my life and spending time with my daughter (as my grandmother did with me, when I was a child). With this blog, I am also passing on the tradition of involving the young ladies in cooking, as my Granny did since I was 6 . As I always say, my daughter is not only my first customer, but my right hand, too.

My cooking fills me with pride, and I am confident that you, dear follower of Cooking with Vivi, will find my tips and tricks useful one day. Just as I learned from my amazing grandmother, you may find one day that a cream of vegetable soup is not such a difficult thing to make after all.

My Granny cooked with a lot of unhealthy oil and lard.  She ate a lot of greasy meat and fatty cheeses, and all of those other things that seem so fattening and disgusting to us now. Still, she was always thin (maybe a little too thin) elegant and balanced.  She was and will always be my role model in life. I miss my Granny every day, and I think of her all the time.  She still lives in my heart.  I will keep posting on this blog in her loving memory.
