Lemon and garlic chicken liver

Totally loved the chicken liver cooked in butter! It’s the best way to cook chicken liver, because if you cook them right they are tender inside and crispy outside. Check out this absolutely fantastic dish!

Ingredients: chicken liver (500 g), 3 garlic cloves (yet, you could use more if you want), butter (2 tbls), salt, juice of 1 lemon

Yield: 4 servings.

Time: 20-30 min, depending on how thorough you are when you clean the livers :).

First wash the livers, remove all the white parts and veins, cut each liver in half. Drain on paper towel.

Chop the garlic in rather large pieces. Heat butter in large skillet. Cook livers for 5 minutes. Add salt and garlic. Cook 5 more minutes until browned. Remove from heat.

 Turn into serving dish and drizzle lemon juice. Serve with sauteed vegetables, mashed vegetables, over rice, noodles, pasta or what you find appropriate.

In Romania all doctors recommend that children eat liver as it contains a lot of iron. Enjoy!
