Baked chicken wings on potato bed

by viviana on May 14, 2012 in Chicken,Mains

Yes, chicken and potatoes again! The reason why this blog is for women with a sense of cooking and not for professional cooks is pretty obvious by now, ay? I love sharing my recipes because I can guarantee they are easy and fast. Key words for my blog: fast cooking, cooking at home, Romanian cuisine, Romanian recipes! So, in case you forget the address of this blog, simply type one of the phrases above and you will be directed to the site. Too much talk, let’s start cooking!

Ingredients: 6 large potatoes, 10 large chicken wings, 5 pieces of ham, 2 cloves of garlic, 1 green onion (chopped), salt, pepper, basil, 2 cups of water, 2 tbls olive oil

Yield: 4 servings.

Time: 1 – 1.5 hrs.

I preheat the oven (moderate heat, number 5 on my oven). I drizzle olive oil, salt, pepper, basil and some water in a large heat resistant glass baking pot.

I wash and peel the potatoes. I cut them in large cubes. I wash and chop the onion and garlic. I add them to the spices and mix a little. I add water (1 cup).  I add the chopped ham.

I defreeze the chicken wings, salt them and place them on top of the potatoes. I sprinkle some more basil and salt.

I bake them for 1 hour. I take them out, stir a bit, turn the wings on the other side and add some more water if necessary. I wrote we need 2 cups of water, but sometimes only one cup is enough.

Look at this beauty and tell me you don’t want to place this on today’s dinner table :). With love and passion, Vivi
