Raspunsuri melodioase

As plictisi pe multi si as distra pe si mai multi, asa ca pastrez pentru mine…

Depeche Mode si altii gen (Erasure, New Order, Camouflage etc).

Orice piesa Depeche Mode! Imi canta inima in piept cand aud DM, oriunde, oricand…

Urmeaza multe albume ale trupelor din scena electro/goth: In Strict Confidence (La Parade Monstrueuse, Exile Paradise – albume excelente), And One, Rabia Sorda, Endanger, Project Pitchfork, Camouflage, Necro Facility, Covenant, Aesthetic Perfection si albumele altor multi, multi alti artisti underground, geniali si underrated, evident.

Atunci cand schimbam CD-urile in masina exista o pauza. As dori sa comentez cate ceva despre artistii romani in voga, dar ma abtin. Nu e treaba mea! Incerc sa imi tin copilul departe de asa ceva si cred ca reusesc (ma felicit!).

8. Coverul tau preferat.

Orice cover Depeche Mode e binevenit.

GUT!

9. Cantecul sau formatia preferata in secunda asta. Mi-a venit in minte Project Pitchfork:

cu memorabilul comentariu: He’s a very handsome woman!

8. Coverul tau preferat.

9. Cantecul sau formatia preferata in secunda asta.

Who’s better than whom in music?

by Viviana on July 28, 2011

in Music

I think that my opinions haven’t really changed over time. I think that my thoughts are more refined, objective, positive, selfish, solar and definitely less radical. There are subjects (such as my country, education, domestic violence and some others) that still make my blood boil, but usually I am less consumed by everyone else’s business on earth. Some contradictions in what I am saying you think? Good! This is what we are, various representations of contradictions, it just takes a lot of guts to realize and admit it.

I live in an Inna-proof world

I’ve repeatedly said that as I grow older (possibly wiser, too) my focus shifts very slowly and I can barely get out of my almost obsessive thoughts and plans about my family and businesses. It is very hard to snap out of all these plans I construct in my head, emails, contracts, messages, partnerships and above all the cute little plans for my daughter and I to spend more quality time together. Call me selfish, but these days I concentrate most of the time on important things to me, not to other people.

Happy birthday, Dave Gahan!

at the vatican - DM

I decided to write a post on Mr Gahan’s birthday for several reasons:

I have never written a post on his birthday
He is probably the most constant male figure in my life (lol) since I can remember (I think the first time I saw a Depeche Mode video was when I was 14 and I am going to be 38)
He is one of the persons who gave me joy and happiness and I thank him for that!

Keep Calm? I Never Had to.

Octavian challenged me to find my favorite Keep Calm poster. I couldn’t find any, so I created my own. It’s dedicated to yesterday’s event I attended on Facebook and in the office:

Yesterday was great!

I got a lot of new friends on Facebook, people I am interested in being in contact with. My friend Mark recommended them, and I am so grateful to him for taking the time and suggesting all my new connections!

I realized I will never follow someone who does not have at least 1 link attached to their profile on Twitter. Once they cannot mention a link ”linked” to them, it’s useless to try and find who they are online. They don’t exist. Not having a page of your own, a space of your own, where you can express yourself, means you are just a sneaky person, and you don’t deserve my attention.

I am starting to get excited about the DARKWAVE.RO FEST. Looks like the venue we chose may prove to be too small…

Next week, my daughter is on vacation. Not wholeheartedly (good parents know what I mean), I tried to book her into a skiing camp. She told me that she does not want to go at all, cause she wants to be with me all week.

Our friend Lars is working hard on his project, and we are so happy to support him.

We are paying too much tax to the Romanian state. Full stop. But there is no other way. I love my life! I love my country! What about you?

This is a post about electro.industrial music. If you are not into this kind of music, stay here! Don’t go anywhere, don’t leave this page. I may surprise you so pleasantly that you may want me to write more about one of my leading activities and great passions: ELECTRO MUSIC!

Electro music is electric. Electro music makes you jump for joy and follow the beat like a maniac. It makes you feel special and submit to the band or singer who conquers your senses.

Most of the artists in the scene don’t make music for the money. They all have day jobs and sometimes find it very hard to take time from work to follow their artistic career. I know at least 100 bands whose members are IT guys, photographers, lawyers, restaurant owners, social workers, etc. I also know some people who made music their exclusive business, and now they own record labels and produce music as well.

Why is Viva Music, the company I run in Bucharest into electro music? Because I love growing things. Because there is no unfair competition from incompetent and corrupt idiots, as the business is no money maker. Because the people in the scene are proud, honest and talented as hell!

The electro scene was inexistent in Bucharest back in 2008 when we started promoting bands like Combichrist, In Strict Confidence, Diary of Dreams, Melotron, Covenant, Das Ich… Later we decided to dedicate a small festival to the Romanian scene, so on Feb 14, 2009 we organized the First Romanian Darkfest, sponsored by Romtelecom (a company we admire for the vision and dedication). The second Darkfest (we changed its name to Darkwave.ro) took place on Nov 12, 2009. Now, we look forward to the amazing Project Pitchfork, Rabia Sorda and Tenek to perform at the third Darkwave.ro on January 29, at Club Cage in Bucharest!

Some videos of the three bands:

Project Pitchfork: I live your dream, Timekiller, Carnival, Souls, Existence, Beholder

Rabia Sorda: Walking on nails, Heart eating crows

Tenek: Less is more, The art of evasion, No time for fighting

Don’t miss this event, or you will be really sorry!

TOMORROW!!!

Our FOURTH electro music radio show on www.bucurestifm.ro (98.3 FM) is on tomorrow from 19:30 to 20:00 and from 20:30 to 21:00. So it is important that you don’t go away after the first 30 minutes and stay with us for both sections of the show!

Funny weekend stories

by Viviana on October 16, 2010

My daughter and I are going to Labyrinthic Metal Evening at Silver Church tonight. I could not miss the opportunity to tell you two really funny things related to this rock festival.

The first one happened last night, when I decided to dress up in my best Gothic outfit and go to this event. Yes, a day earlier. I was not surprised at all to realize that the guys were preparing the Silver Church for a regular disco night. I had found a very convenient parking space, so it had to be something wrong! And it was the wrong evening.

So tonight, my daughter and I are going (again, in my case) to the Silver Church club, this time hoping that the 7 bands we are supposed to see (or the 2, or 3, or none) will be there. Obviously, the parking space will not be available, but we will think positive and try to produce one.

The second really funny thing is what my daughter (9 y.o.) said while we were discussing what to wear tonight: “I am not going to wear any makeup!”, she said. I asked her why. She said “I want people to recognize me”. And after a moment of reflection she continued: I want people who don’t know me to recognize me. Cause I guess no one  knows me there”. I think that was very funny. A minute later she also added: “And another reason why I am not wearing makeup tonight is that I also want you to know who I am all the time at the concert”. 9 year olds are amazing. Especially when they are our children.

Living for music

In 2009, I saw Depeche Mode live in Israel, Italy, Hungary, Spain (two shows). I also had tickets for Romania, Bulgaria and Portugal, but the shows were cancelled due to Dave Gahan’s illness. Still, the trip to Porto was good fun!

I also went to two major Gothic festivals in Germany:
