Consolidated report – YearEnd2009
(JB called me today to tell me that he beat Roger Federer in a short friendly match. Talking about firsts…)
I am almost sure most of you will not have the time or patience to read this text. And if you decide not to now, it’s for the better, trust me! I mean it’s better for you. If you have already got bored, then do something more interesting. If you are a friend or just someone genuinely interested in what I have to say, then stay. You are more than welcome to my site every day. This site is mainly about a person called Viviana, a person with a very exciting and interesting life. It is about someone who feels and loves more than anyone else (that’s what she thinks, so don’t get annoyed!), it is about someone who is blessed and happy and accomplished. If what you are going to read later makes you feel sorry for your life, well… I am sorry to tell you that I don’t feel sorry for you. I have worked and pushed and stubbornly persisted in every attempt. I am not as smart as I wished, but I am a better person than most people I know. And that is, I’ve come to realize, more important than being smart. If you are still here, you are a friend! And you truly understand every word I am saying! If you are just curious and keep reading, now it’s your last chance to go away! The next lines may deeply hurt you…
Today’s lines are mainly about my life with a beautiful human being (mostly what we did in 2009), and about my great accomplishments, experiences and sweet moments of 2009.
In 2009 my daughter, Adara learned how to work on the computer better than me, escalade (climb walls), ski, swim, ride a horse, play yams and probably some other 20 games, multiply and do complicated math stuff, write an expose and now she knows what a part of speech is. She has a green belt in karate now, she speaks perfect English and she is the best person I have ever met. I am so proud of her. We read books together and the best one we read was Legendele Olimpului. She and I for a fact learned more about nature and how to respect God’s creation. She also knows a lot about Romania’s history and she is far better than me in geography. She went on 3 camps in Moeciu and made many friends. On most of our vacations (I always forget to buy the gps!) my daughter was the queen of orientation! We saw Ioana and Alex’s baby, Ruxandra Maria, for the first time a few days ago! We saw Anastacia, Cirque du Soleil, we went on a beautiful trip to Sighisoara, Brasov, Campina, Valea Calugareasca, Buzau (Berca) and Muddy Volcanoes in the last few days of 2009. We saw Avatar and Into the Deep in December at the Imax in the new Cotroceni Mall and we loved both of them. We saw both Twilight movies and we loved them. We saw Hannah Montana and some other crappy series including H2O on Getix. We saw all 6 Medium series and we love them and keep playing some episodes again and again. We went to the Black Sea coast to Eforie Nord with our friends and we loved it. It was the first time Adara set foot into a disco and I will never forget the “hardworking” style of dancing that she had there. Adara said and did amazing things this year and she made me laugh more than anyone else. This is one of the cutest things she did this year. She was reading to me from a book about witchcraft (one of those children shiny beautiful expensive books with a huge stone in the middle on the top cover) about invisibility cloaks. And she suddenly said: Do you think we can find an invisibility cloak? I answered: I think they are pretty hard to find! She answered: Doh! Of course! Because they are invisible. It may mean nothing to 99.99% of the population of this planet, but for me, this sentence means the world.
Both of us have a Myspace page and a Twitter account. I am also on Facebook but I hate that. We play Vampires on Myspace and we enjoy that big time. She has a subscription for Club Penguin and one for Webkinz. And I have become a Webkinz slave, as she just keeps making me buy more and more…the real ones, I mean. Adara got a beautiful present from Santa! The phone that she wanted for quite some time now.
Ruxi got her eye operation and now she does not need glasses anymore! My colleagues and I managed to bring the language training center I own, Wordland International, to the 5th position in Romania and in Bucharest.
Viva Music – my other beloved company – organized the First Romanian Darkfest and Melotron concert.
An important thing in my life is the fact that the Rosapepes (Jim Rosapepe, the former American Ambassador and his wife, Sheilah Kast) published a book about Romania called Dracula Is Dead and there are some things about me in it.
I cannot brag about the great books that I read this year, but I can brag about having the patience to finish the Twilight saga. Another first! (I promised myself to read more, as I also promised myself to go out more. And have a sort of routine of going for coffee and lunch with people, cause I never seem to find the time to do that!)
In 2009, starting the very beginning of the year, I somehow focused (if not obsessed) on German and American industrial music. I ended up liking In Strict Confidence, Melotron, Aesthetic Perfection, And One, Agonoize, Lowe, Fractured, Endanger, Project Pitchfork, Painbastard, Panzer AG, and some other bands almost as much as I like Depeche Mode.
I quit smoking and eating meat. Yes, I gained a few pounds, but…more to love!
I saw Depeche Mode live in Israel (on my birthday), Rome, Budapest, Barcelona (2 concerts). The official dvd of the Depeche Mode tour was made in Barcelona! I saw Deine Lakaien (march) and Lowe (november) live in Bucharest.
I helped many people when I could and I was helped and supported by a lot of people I barely know when I either least expected it, or I didn’t even think people would help me. In January this year I met Laur and he is one of my best friends now.
I bought beautiful Gothic jewelry and clothes for myself and my daughter this year. I saw at least 50 live concerts and flew more than I could ever imagine!! I got over my fear of planes! That’s another first. I drove about 10,000 km if not more. I booked tickets for Amphi Festival next year and I look forward to that cause I am taking my daughter with me this time! I went to Wave Gotik Treffen and Blackfield in Germany, I visited 6 countries out of which 5 were a first, I went to visit at least 20 new places in Romania (including Sarmizegetusa, Castelul Huniazilor), I took tons of pictures, I laughed, I loved, I enjoyed life and thanked God for every moment of my life.
Most of the things I did this year helped me experience more things and learn more about the world. As any other year I guess. I learned more about myself while spending time with the people I love and I realized (once again) that true friends are friends forever. I learned a lot while doing real business with business people who were or were not in trouble because of the crisis. I thank everyone who put their trust in me and helped me in 2009 and I promise that in 2010 I will strive to do even better!
We received the most beautiful and thoughtful gift in December this year from JB.
I hope that 2010 will be even better, because my daughter and I deserve the best!
